Horseshoe
Just received some training info prior to the publishing of the new AR 670-1, and it mentions that horseshoe hair for males is unauthorized. I'm thinking this is fairly off the wall as I have never seen a hairstyle like it in the Army. Only thing it reminds me of is someone balding who gets a high and tight. Anyone else ever seen something like this?

this haircut is tapered to a very short flat top, it is essentially a landing strip (in the middle), it used to be my hairstyle of choice....had nothing to do with balding

CSM, when I saw this picture I instantly remembered when I was a young SPC that I tried the flat top look and I had this "landing strip".  I learned that day my head was just not meant for flat tops.

Mostly a Marine Corps cut...but some 'hardcore' Soldiers enjoy it.

The second I read "Marine Corps" it hit me. Basically a flat top with the top plane being exactly at the top of the head?

The only time I saw that was those guys going bald and still sporting a high and tight

Never as a fashion statement on one who had the choice of hair.
But hey I retired 14 months ago, perhaps it's been a wild world of hair style change in that year....lol
