How many here volunteer with the USO? I've been thinking about this for awhile now and I would like to start volunteering and wondered who here volunteers or has in the past and if they have any words of wisdom. The USO really made my family and I feel welcome and comfortable throughout my 24 years and I want to give back. Thanks in advance!

The USO is a great not for profit organization that truly goes where we go in many countries across the globe. Typically the staff has been very receptive and inviting at every USO I've visited. I too, would like to give them some time as well, as a show of appreciation for what they've provided during my time but as a way to also give to our Service Members and their families as they continue to serve. Thanks for bringing this up MSgt Jim Wolverton, the USO is a great organization!

Thanks CSM Uhlig. The USO will always have a special place in my heart. When I deployed to Saudi for the first time by myself during OSW, the USO at Frankfurt really made me feel welcome. As you said, they are a great organization.

I did it while on my last deployment (racked up over 500 hours) and I had a blast. Both the staff and the other volunteers really opened my social circle and helped pass the time. I can only hope if I deploy again that there's one on the base I'm going to.
