If their service was rated an "Honorable" than yes they should. Why would we cause a larger rip between the Active Duty side and the Reserve side of the departments by saying they do not deserve this after serving?

Definitely. Regardless of how you served, you still served. Should active duty veteran receive a higher preference than a reservist if they both have the same amount of years served, sure. But yes they definitely still deserve a preference, they read the same oath, deploy, etc.

Yes, this^soldier understands the point. It's the service, National Guard and reservist are not general public in my eyes. It is why I am trying to get all my brothers and sisters to sign the White House petition for Veterans' Preference for reservist/former reservist.

The National Guard and the reservists don't get a fair "shake". But the WOMEN get even far less. One veterans day the wife and I are down town remembrance of the fallen with other veterans "we have denim jackets with some of our patches on them. The people would thank me for serving but not say a word to her. One of the patches has the gulf war ribbon and says gulf war veteran on it.
