Accelerated Training of individuals for Vietnam

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: VIETNAM VETERANS
Specifically, The LRRP/AIRBORNE and Phoenix Program.
I know an older vet that is saying some stuff that I as a Jump Master know is not possible. I want to give the old guy the benefit of the doubt but I am honestly speechless on this one. All Vets will tell a fish story on occasion but this is more than I can attribute to that. Here are some examples:
** Completed Jump School, Jungle School, and Sniper School in about a month and a week.
** Left Jump School with 4 jumps. His fifth jump was into North Vietnam, with a LEG rigged to jump TANDEM with him, hooked to each other with a tether.
** Shot his first bad guy while still on the Tarmac from his flight into country.
** Worked with a Special Ops unit out of Phu Bi, run by a CIA guy named Tooley. Occasionally says this unit was part of Phoenix.

Like I said, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but Jumping your fifth jump as a HALO with a LEG tandem rigged to you....

Never been to a military jump school, but I believe I can with confidence, tell you that ALL of this is total bull shit!

I spent some two years in Vietnam, all of it in I Corps, as an advisor to various units of the First Arvn Inf Div working chiefly around Phu Bai, then in a SF unit. There is no way he completed all of those schools in 5 weeks. If he jumped into North VN it would have been a HALO jump and you need a lot more than 5 jumps to qualify as HALO. Shooting VC on the airport tarmac? Since when did anyone ever land in a VC controlled airport? Never heard of any Spec Ops Unit in Phu Bai. Phu Bai was the airport for Hué.
