I always like the story of the guy that was buying empty lots in Detroit and turning them into farm land because it was cheaper than buying farm land....

I've developed real estate for over 15 years and with him being a native of Detroit, I think it's an extremely smart move. Revitalization of certain Urban areas can become great investments with huge ROI's.
