Am I able to re-enlist to go Korea for next assignment?

This is my first duty station and DEROS is June 2022. I’ve heard my window for re-enlist will open 15 month prior to ETS date, however, my ETS date is June 2023. If I receive PCS order this December(6 months before DEROS date), I cannot reup for specific duty station that I want? I’ve heard different answers from who have different experiences like there is a waiver for first re-enlist soldier.

You will be placed on assignment six months from your DEROS in December 2021 or earlier. Your window to request an assignment through reenlistment won't open till March 2022, you'll already be on assignment to your next duty assignment.

What you can't do is send up a request for a COT Continuation of Overseas Tour, to your branch manager. The details are in AR 614-30, but the easiest thing to do is contact your branch manager and ask. Korea is REALLY easy to get if you're not already on assignment, so do it sooner than later

Dont do that. You can get Korea by just calling HRC. Reenlist for GERMANY or Japan, much better.
