Am I allowed to sit in a pub that serves alcohol, while in uniform, but not drink alcohol?

If the primary source of income for an establishment is alcohol, then it would be of ill thought process to enter such an establishment while in uniform, even though you intend not to drink alcohol.

NCO and Officer clubs serve alcohol. you will see service members in uniform there

Dude, I’m going to keep it simple with you. 90% of the military can’t wait to take the uniform off after working all day. 5% of the remainder are strictly running errands so their spouses don’t kill them, the other 5% are privates who think wearing the uniform off post is cool and they will get free shit. Don’t be that guy, especially if you haven’t gone to basic or AIT yet.....

It sounds like you just want some attention along the lines of “Soldier walks into a bar with no intention to drink, thank me for my service.”

Been a lot of years since the recruiter chief took me to the strip club in uniform. It's more of an optics issue nowadays. Out in our rural area, we see NG in uniform having lunch at our local brew pub. Not a big deal especially when you consider the places to sit down and eat can be counted on one hand.

I personally would avoid going in uniform to a bar whether you are consuming (against UCMJ) or just sitting there. It just doesn’t look good and unfortunately in this day and age of people happy to post crap on Facebook and social media you don’t want to be explaining to the brass why you are seen in a photo on the net sitting in uniform in a bar. Just not worth the possible crap. And we know some anti military person would love the chance to post a photo of someone in uniform sitting in a bar and say something about them getting plastered.
