I have heard plenty of the conspiracy theory stuff. I used to have a fellow PSG that followed the conspiracy theory stuff to the extreme. <br /><br />As far as the training with civilian law enforcement and emergency responders goes under HR 5122, signed into law on 17 October 2006,<br /><br />Section 1076 is titled "Use of the Armed Forces in major public emergencies." It provided that:<br /><br /> The President may employ the armed forces... to... restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition... the President determines that... domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order... or [to] suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy if such... a condition... so hinders the execution of the laws... that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law... or opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.[6]<br /><br />So could the President suspend Posse Comitatus Act and operate under the auspices of HR 5122, sure would it be a hard sale to get through Congress, you bet.

When you see picture of HMMWVS in the Ambulance configuration on railcars with the Crescent Moon emblem on them, some people panic and scream conspiracy. I have to ask, isn't Turkey an Ally? or any other Muslim nation, and the Crescent Moon is a Red Cross in those nations. When I hear or read about someone freaking out about Tanks on Railcars, I have to explain, that when a Unit deploys anywhere in the world, they move from their bases within the United States, to their port of debarkation via rail, thus they do not take up road space, or destroy roadway that is meant for Cars or Trucks. And of course the fastest way to move Military Equipment en-mass is via rail. Saw a video once where these people flipped out, because all these Vehicles, Tanks, and APC's were on Rail Cars in California. turns out they were less than 10 miles from NTC, and the Unit was deploying back to their home base. People really are sheep, and will be afraid of things they could never understand

Now with that said, there is usually a shred of truth buried in every conspiracy theory -- just enough to make it believable. <br /><br />The truth is that we ARE building a data facility out West with Zetabytes of storage capacity. That's enough to maintain an active dossier for every person on the planet! For what purpose is that needed when this country is trillions of dollars in debt? Is that the best use of our taxpayer dollars? <br /><br />The truth is that the gov't has built/is building? detention facilities out in the middle of nowhere. For what purpose? It doesn't make sense that we would ship illegals inland to these facilities when we could for the same expense, ship them back to the border. <br /><br />I don't know why our gov't feels a need to decide what's best for We The People who elect our leaders when the majority of the public says we don't want something:<br />- like borrowing more money from the Federal Reserve and foreign countries to pay for the out of control spending of our Congress, the cost of which is being passed on to future generations... <br />- like a militarized police force... <br />- like gun control laws that keep guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens...<br />- like warrantless invasion of our privacy...<br />- like Obamacare!<br /><br />Americans are the most divided they have ever been in this country's history. One that placed a high value on individual responsibility and personal accountability, which are so lacking in today's leadership. Those we elect to represent us are but a reflection of ourselves. We have a lot of soul searching to do. Are we to go the route every democratically elected gov't that has preceded ours has gone? Or will we learn from the mistakes of history and vow not to repeat them?<br /><br />I trust our military leaders have learned from the mistakes of history (such as those made at Kent State by our National Guard), and that they would be on the side of the people (should our gov't leaders get too big for their britches. forget who elected them and fail to do what they were sent to Washington to do -- i.e., represent the PEOPLE's interest!) <br /><br />WE THE PEOPLE hire our elected officials by electing them to office. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'd say the people who worry about secret concentration camps are worried about the wrong things.<br /><br />Yes, the government is getting more and more intrusive into personal liberties, and we already "store" 1% of our population in prisons at a huge expense, many many of which pose no real threat to society.<br /><br />However, we are far from independent from government control, how much of the population would survive a month without the power grid, gasoline supply, access to banking, tap water, and Wal-Mart? I'm sure the "preppers" think they can build themselves an independent life, and maybe they can if the rule of law totally breaks down, but honestly I don't see a "Walking Dead" or "Mad Max" scenario ever happening.

But I just wanted to add my thoughts here...<br /><br />Conspiracy nuts are going to do what conspiracy nuts are going to do... So we see military aircraft/ vehicles, etc. operating within the US... So what? Where else are they to conduct exercises? Does this always point to an underhanded attempt by our government to establish marshal law and put Americans under the boot of the military? Absolutely not.<br /><br />The reality is, the National Guard is called in at times of emergency... That's exactly what would happen.

They stopped short of the rolling blackouts, that was already previously tested. Don't have any confirmed UN actions outside of DOD bases. The active Military would need the approval of the Governor to deploy off of federal bases. This is currently thought to be pre-approved in Democrat run states.
