Anyone here been to Fort Bliss & know anything about 1-35 AR BN, 2ABCT, 1AD?

I’m PCSing to Bliss this June as a 92F and just wanted to know what I’ll be expecting for the most part. Particularly with that unit; if anyone has been apart of it or known people who have been. Also, what’s the usual day to day like? PT, work & duty?

I was there in the late 90’s. Not the worst and not the best duty stations. Stay away from Mexico!!!!

Hydration is KEY. It’s a cannon/dessert ... we used to do PT in AIT/Perm. Party and just for fun up in McKelligon Canyon. GREAT RUN and BEAUTIFUL view, opens up your lungs

No clue about your unit as I am medical but as my assignments have been for off duty activities, I rank them: 1. Germany 2. Bliss 3. Hawaii 4. Hood 5. Sam Houston, and 6. Korea. Never get bored here.

Can't say much about what 1-35AR, 2-1 AD is like these days as I was with them a decade ago when 2-1AD stood up and became the Army's testing brigade; which, mercifully, it no longer is.

I can say that Ft. Bliss has many amenities and is adjacent to El Paso with many more things to see and do. Understand it is the desert, so it's dry and hot, and not a lot of greenery. Plan accordingly.

Ft Bliss has grown exponentially since I was stationed there in the later 90s and again in the early 2000s. Today I'm at Ft Bliss for an exercise and you will be over on the Biggs side of Bliss. It is desert so be ready to drink lots of water. PT is normal hours and they block off various sections of the roads. There is a huge PX complex over on the old part of Bliss and most of the amenities are relatively new. El Paso is a nice city to live in and Las Cruses and Alamogordo are with in driving distance. Hope you like Mexican food. However like any assignment, it is what you make of it. I always enjoy my time here at Ft Bliss. Good luck.

I did not have a good experience at Ft Bliss. My unit was ran completely bass ackwards and the “leadership” (if you can call them that) was atrociously toxic. I doubt much has changed, albeit I hope it has. I came here from a normal infantry unit (2nd ID, Ft Lewis)and this place was nothing like what I expected from an army division.
