So, not during COVID, but still a pretty recent summer. Only advice I have is to hydrate and wear sunscreen. Also, the ruck marches put a lot of female soldiers on crutches due to stress fractures. If I could go back the only thing I’d do different is build up leg strength more before shipping out. Humid and hot. That never changes in the Midwest in that area. Then around October it&#39;s gonna start to get cold. I went to basic July - end of Sept. I think I left 1 Oct. It was windy and cold. <br /><br />The weather can change in a split second too. Summer is hot, but not terrible. In Jan.-Mar. the tornado sirens go off a lot. Ticks are a bit of an issue during the summer. Best of luck to your wife.
