I believe the Army Values were promulgated because so many basic trainees and young soldiers did not have a strong sense of values. The unit and the rest of the army will continue discussing the values, however, the new soldiers should see the values in action to reaffirm what they were taught. Keep in mind this is not a perfect army. I have often talked to Soldiers about the Army Values and how they help reinforce a core value or belief already instilled in them.
