Are assignments to a MEPS career-enhancing for a Medic? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/are-assignments-to-a-meps-career-enhancing-for-a-medic <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How difficult is it to get a position in a MEPS as a medic? Will it hurt or help your military career? Is there a 30 slot position available working at a MEPS? Trying to think of options for my next career move and not sure which way to go. Would like to get a duty station of choice after my time here on Hawaii. MEPS is a stabilized spot for three years, so there's not a lot of turnover there. I've seen the slots occasionally, I think they were all E6 slots. It would definitely help your career as it's something outside the normal miluie for a medic. AMEDD recruiter an option for you? When I worked at RAleigh Meps I was the only reservist and the other techs were active duty corpsman there on three year orders. They hated it, you don’t use your medic skills much at all. You give briefs, do eye exams, look at genitals for UA, take HIV blood samples and pack specimens for testing at the lab I worked 530-1400 everyday no weekends that was the only good part. The 1sg was awesome though. You’ll work with mostly GS civilians who put most of the work on you SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 04 Mar 2019 17:37:12 -0500 2019-03-04T17:37:12-05:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 17 at 2019 10:58 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/are-assignments-to-a-meps-career-enhancing-for-a-medic?n=5034676&urlhash=5034676 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How about becoming a flight paramedic ?
