As service members, we have little to gain from these kinds of things and a lot to lose. <br /><br />I never publicly support or criticize ANY politician. Criticism can be misconstrued as disrespect and my support of any politician’s actions isn’t necessary. I am simply required to follow lawful orders, my opinion (for or against) isn’t relevant. <br /><br />That being said, do what your rank (or future rank) can handle. Jokes about WWIII would fall in this line. Jokes about specific politicians or policies, however, get dicey. If ot can be construed as being disrespectful, insubordinate, treasonous, or seditious, it is best to steer clear, even if it is said in jest.
