SGT Cherrelle Dove 7035692

I am looking to re-enlist but to apply for OCS and come back in as an Officer. I originally took the ASVAB out of HS, during that time I had no idea what the test was or had ever considered joining the military until some months later (mind you this was 2008). After speaking with a recruiter, I was told that I could retake the ASVAB, however prior service is only allowed a one time go at a re-take. Anybody have insight into this or if this is true? I want to ensure I secure atleast a 110GT score to meet the qualifications for OCS, however I am extremely anxious now that if I don't make it-- that's my one and only shot.

Thanks! Are Prior Service allowed to retake the ASVAB more than once? 2021-06-09T14:27:48-04:00 SGT Cherrelle Dove 7035692

I am looking to re-enlist but to apply for OCS and come back in as an Officer. Do you remember you original GT score? Best advice is to study hard and do multiple practice test. https://www.4tests.com/asvab#StartExam

You know your scores so see how far off the GT score were you and focus of that. You can do it if you put your mind to it. They used to be the focal point for all things education. TA, CLEPs and all other testing. Get a prep book and study to be sure, but ask first. Most ASVAB prep books explain what areas comprise the scores, so you can focus. Several tests make up the AFQT and your concern, GT. Internet research will help. https://www.military.com/join-armed-forces/asvab/what-your-asvab-scores-mean.html

What Your ASVAB Scores Mean

Scores are given in nine different areas on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test, but what do they mean?

Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 9 at 2021 5:51 PM 2021-06-09T17:51:01-04:00 2021-06-09T17:51:01-04:00 PO1 Chad Alcock 7036414

I took when I joined the Army in 1995 and again when I joined the Navy in 2001.
