His comment caused me to think about every time there is a shooting the response is that the personnel at the location should be armed or armed guards should be present. Is this where we are headed and what would that look like? Last night's shooting in a Louisiana theater marked the 204th mass shooting in the U.S. during 2015. Shootings are occurring in so many venues that it seems impossible to defend against them. Is the answer increasing security? Strengthening gun ownership laws? The main point I'm trying to make here is that after each shooting we hear the same thing that personnel should be armed or that armed guards should be present. They are turning just about every case of gun violence into a mass shooting. There were casings that I read on that website were it was a drive by but if a gang member fired multiple shots into a party this website called it a mass shooting. I wouldn't go that far. That is just gang violence. In a lot of those from that site no one was killed.

I think they should clarify what they are trying to say instead of linking a bunch of random shootings and calling them all a mass shooting. But this provides some good info.

Just some more info. Detroit in had 309 murders in one year. I don't think mass shootings are the biggest issue we have.

The first mass shooting on you website happened after two people got into a verbal augment at a club. One guy got into a bus and the other one got into this car and then fired on the bus. I don't think that is on par what what they want you to think.

2 things to know about America's mass shooting epidemic

Under one definition, these shootings are getting more common.

CPT Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 24 Jul 2015 19:26:55 -0400 2015-07-24T19:26:55-04:00 Response by Capt Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 24 at 2015 7:32 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/are-you-aware-that-there-have-been-204-mass-shootings-in-the-u-s-thus-far-in-2015?n=842031&urlhash=842031

How many of these shootings was done with a gun legally held by the shooter? In fairness they were snake pits, but 30 years later we have a need. The police and jails aren't equipped to deal with or warehouse and treat these people. We have plenty of guns but there are just too many and access is too easy. The Louisiana shooter was a known nut - nothing available to help him & protect us. We can't keep just accepting these losses. Some Navy recruiter brought his own gun to work for protection and shot himself in the thigh. This won't get better until we make an intelligent decision.
