Users will be able to add virtually anyone to the service, and people are unable to opt out of having reviews posted about them, adding to concerns over the invasive nature of the app.
When the app launches in November, users will be able to review friends, coworkers, dates and pretty much anyone else, using a one- to five-star rating scale.
The app, founded by Julia Cordray and Nicole McCullough, will be available only on iOS devices in November. It's already had thousands sign up to be beta testers, according to a post on the Peeple Facebook page. The company’s shares currently put its value at $7.6 million, according to the Washington Post.
In order to post a review, users have to be 21 or older with an active Facebook account. Reviews must be made under a person's own name, and a user must indicate how they know the person they will review in one of three categories: Personal, professional or romantic.

This is going to cause a lot of problems. Relationships, personal and professional, will suffer from this. What happened to talking with a person directly to understand someone better? Anyone shouldn't be able to simply view such info about a person.

The overtly invasive nature and vulnerability of the WWW (the same one Al Gore invented) is today a serious concern to those who use it correctly and properly. The achievements made by hackers to infiltrate the most "secure" networks has hit critical mass. What is coming, apps like this one, will pale in comparison to what follows. On that day, whenever it occurs, the Internet as we know it now will cease to exist. Hackers will be left to fend off other hackers. It will be like an electronic Ice Age.

What purpose does this serve? I don't see this as being a positive tool, besides the recent culture trend is for everyone to be offended by something someone else does, has, .....it's just another tool for bashing.

It's a sad vehicle, but it will only be used by sad people. Some may have it out of sheer curiosity, but mature people likely won't use it for anything outside of entertainment value. If someone is going to judge you based off of this app instead of their own personal interaction, do you really need them in your life?

Maybe this will help people realize that their actions have consequences and to take a little accountability for what they do - take a good look at yourself and see if you are really here to help others or just here for yourself! I don't see the problem unless you have something to hide! Those who are "scared" something bad will come out might actually learn that it's not so bad as long as you correct the wrong - after all, nobody is perfect. And - you have to be 21 - which is great because teanagers would defintiely abuse this - but at 21, you should be mature enough to handle it.

Hate to sound short-minded, but this is stupid. Just talk to the person, holy crap. This does nothing to help anyone in any point of life. So someone doesn't like me and gives me a one star rating on this app. Are other people, who could be potentially great friends, gonna just look at this and turn the other cheek? I've never had a lot of friends and I'm ok with keeping it that way, but I'll be damned if I let an app tell me who I am.
