The only school where you are treated like a recruit in Drill Instructor School. 1stSgt Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 06 Oct 2015 12:36:29 -0400 2015-10-06T12:36:29-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 6 at 2015 12:49 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/at-what-point-do-army-schools-turn-into-college-instead-of-iet-reruns?n=1020564&urlhash=1020564 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>One word.....TRADOC MSG Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 06 Oct 2015 12:49:01 -0400 2015-10-06T12:49:01-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 23 at 2015 6:46 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/at-what-point-do-army-schools-turn-into-college-instead-of-iet-reruns?n=1127614&urlhash=1127614 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think this is one of the problems of the Army. We try to treat people like they are not fully grown and capable adults. When I counsel my soldiers, I open it by saying that they should see themselves as adults, not just "privates." If you get them out of that mentality where they think they are being babysat, you can empower them to make sensible independent decisions (thereby breeding initiative). It was the squad leader of the day's responsibility to ensure everyone was in class and ready to study when the instructor walked in in the morning. We were released at 1600, and it was on the individual to study as needed for the day. I felt that I was treated as an adult and a soldier. We didn't suffer through needless IET type crap. For that reason I always recommend to soldiers that if given the chance they choose Camp William UT for WLC. Overall the Cadre were exemplary professionals.
