Uhlig 176896

the article indicates low morale.....could be a myriad of things....could be suicides in the unit; not recommending their Soldiers for awards/promotions; not taking care of the families; no family readiness programs; multiple Sexual Assault allegations (maybe without action); multiple IG complaints (substantiated) and etc....

Again, I do not know the specifics of the case however, just trying to give you some ideas that could lead to this kind of action......something significant must be going on to make it look like a credible case. I don't remember anywhere in the UCMJ, or evaluations, or Army Command Policy where suspension is described as a technique to be used. Is "suspension" just a new politically correct term for relieved? Response by SSG Trevor S. made Jul 13 at 2014 10:48 AM 2014-07-13T10:48:15-04:00 2014-07-13T10:48:15-04:00 1SG Private RallyPoint Member 176929

COL Vincent Stoneking nailed it already. Suspension is not relief. Under AR 600-8-2, any commander's investigation (formal or informal) or law enforcement investigation (military or civilian) is cause for a flag to be initiated. Doesn't mean anything punitive, it's an administrative tool pending the outcome of the findings. I believe it is AR 600-20 that says something about personnel cannot hold command positions while flagged, so they would be temporarily reassigned pending the outcome. It's not something new, it's just we are more aware now with the speed of technology and the HUGE spotlight we have on the military caused by the media's attention on recent cases. I had not seen this article before but would be interested to learn more of the facts.
