My question is, how difficult is it to get a slot? I’m in the reserves currently as an Engineer. Is it primarily for Infantry or combat arms? Best way to get a Mountain Warfare or Pathfinder school slot? 2020-07-17T23:26:06-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 6112381

I’ve been interested in attending the Army Mountain Warfare or Pathfinder school. That is the best way to get a school. Remember that you can always ask for a school when you Re-up. It does not mean you will get it but if your unit can pull it off you will because they want the retention numbers Response by SSG Roger Ayscue made Jul 18 at 2020 12:08 AM 2020-07-18T00:08:16-04:00 2020-07-18T00:08:16-04:00 CW3 Private RallyPoint Member 6113167

For Mountain Warfare transfer to the 86th IBCT (MTN) in the National Guard (VT, CT, MI, CO, NH and a few other states). The Engineers are mostly out of Vermont (I think). The school is mandatory for some positions and highly encouraged for everyone in the brigade. It's akin to 82nd and Airborne or 101st and Air Assault.

I'm fortunate to be in the brigade and was encourage to attend. It is an amazing school.

As SSG Ayscue said ask for schools when you reenlist. This was certainly the case during my time in the 101st. Have you already been to SAPPER? Like others have mentioned you may be able to get an approval with a reenlistment but I would get that in writing. I should have tried to use https://samploon.com/free-essays/personality/ service for writing esse, and I was taken without any problems. But Army Mountain has a shorter list of requirements. But most likely they didn’t take me because I didn’t have any rank at that time.

Personality Essay Examples and Research Papers on Samploon.com.
