Bowe Bergdahl as a GUEST SPEAKER?

I'm convinced now that my computer has it out to do me in. Between the headaches installing the CAC reader to the multiple tries to log into my Enterprise email, and recently my search engine showcased a variety of military guest speakers when I was looking for ideas for a guest speaker that may fit in.

Apparently there is a company/agency offering Bowe Bergdahl as a feature speaker. Given the controversy about surrounding his capture and investigation/consideration for desertion/defection/possible additional other charges, how is it that he is released for public speaking arrangements since he has not been released from the military?

I've got a lot of feelings about this one, but most of them aren't very happy thoughts.

CPT Jonathan Butler, The idea of SGT Bergdhal becoming a featured speaker scares me! Whether he is convicted or not; I detest the idea of him or his profiting from his misadventure in any manner!

Personally, I think there is a lot that can be learned from him as a keynote speaker, and at this point, what little money he is able to raise will likely go to his defense.

Regardless of who he was 6 years ago when he left the FOB, the intervening years had to have given him an opportunity to reflect on a lot of different things.

At first I was disgusted by the thought of him being considered a 'celebrity speaker' but I think it would be cool if he was invited to speak at Camp Delta , Guantanamo Bay? An open ended invitation.

I would hire him.... He could speak at the opening day of my new firing range. I would set him up a very nice podium in front of the targets and he can say a short speech I will provide. " Welcome to the range. Open fire! JK ;)

I can see how some people would want to hear his story, those who think he was wronged or who believe that the US military treated him wrongly.
But for myself I would never want to hear him speak or even read his speeches because I can't ever imagine him having anything of value to say.
Bowe Bergdahl is a traitor and should spend the rest of his miserable life in prison at a minimum.

You know it's bad when you cannot find a meme to accurately describe how you feel inside. A facepalm doesn't do me justice after reading this. So to help out of this funk, I'm going to have a great weekend watching America's True Team beat the brakes off someone else, and just chill out. I hope everyone else does the same with whatever sorry a** loosing team you root for is it's not the Skins. If you're a Cowboys fan, I know your life is hard, and I wish you many days of successful therapy. I still cannot believe this sh*t.....

This is interesting, but he is flagged for investigation and off duty employment would not be permitted. However, I don't think you could stop him from volunteering to speak.
