You DO NOT join the 160th, you are selected/invited- they are the cream of the crop, and are very selective, and for good reasons. If they select you, then it says that you are the cream of the crop in your MOS. Like other units who are spear points, it is hard on families- NO notice alerts, deployments, etc. Your wife can even watch CNN like mine did in the 82nd, cause the 160th is always under the radar, SGM Bill Frazer Tue, 23 Oct 2018 14:36:25 -0400 2018-10-23T14:36:25-04:00 Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 24 at 2018 12:22 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-anyone-give-me-some-insight-on-being-a-15p-while-in-160th-how-is-the-lifestyle-for-families-wife-and-two-kids?n=4070829&urlhash=4070829 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Talk to a 160th recruiter. You can find a recruiter and more info at <a target="_blank" href="https://goarmysof.com/160th/">https://goarmysof.com/160th/</a>. <br />You can expect more frequent training exercises and deployments, but for a much shorter time period than regular Army. It’s a professional organization, they treat you like an adult and expect you to conduct yourself in a professional manner. It’s a whole different world than regular Army. If that’s something you want to do I encourage you to follow your dreams while you’re at the beginning of your career. If the opportunity presents itself, grab it. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://goarmysof.com/160th/.">.</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 24 Oct 2018 12:22:27 -0400 2018-10-24T12:22:27-04:00 Response by 1SG Will Arnold made Apr 8 at 2019 5:44 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-anyone-give-me-some-insight-on-being-a-15p-while-in-160th-how-is-the-lifestyle-for-families-wife-and-two-kids?n=4524236&urlhash=4524236 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you are selected it means that you are a cop notch. If you pass the 160th selection screening and evaluation process you are truly best of the best. Expect high operational deployment tempo and training. FRG network is also top notch 1SG Will Arnold Mon, 08 Apr 2019 05:44:22 -0400 2019-04-08T05:44:22-04:00 2018-10-23T11:13:19-04:00
