Can contractors eat at the dining facility at air force bases?

So I'm a government contractor working at Hill Air Force Base and I was wondering if it was permitted for me to eat at the dining facility (assuming I pay for the meal)

It depends what privileges are indicated on your CAC Card.

Interesting question. As a government contractor in the CONUS, I never attempted to use a government dining facility, but that was 1991 through 2007. Things might have changed. Overseas, I did eat at dining facilities when my orders authorized. That was apparently the key, authorization on orders. Not sure if SP5 Peter Keane answer is correct, but it might be worth try. I still don't see the need to eat at a DFAC unless you are working unusual hours at a remote location where normal "downtown" feeding facilities are not available. If you're staying in government quarters, I can see why a DFAC might be convenient sometimes.

Yes you can eat at a dining facility. You just have to pay more for the meal.

SPC Andrew Murray Some Air Force Dining Facility cashiers are extremely vigilant. One was on the verge of being really upset about my female guest not having a Dependent’s Card.

There were several male contractors or base civil service employees eating there! USAF personnel do not dress as those guys were.

BACK in the day all contractors working on any base was given food vouchers. What happened?
