You won’t be able to shoot if they do weapons qualifications though since you haven’t had the training. You’d probably be on some sort of range duty.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 22 at 2020 4:53 PM2020-02-22T16:53:30-05:002020-02-22T16:53:30-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member5588902<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You sure can and will likely need the AT orders to have accumulated enough points for a qualifying year. After BOLC, I loved the active duty lifestyle I transferred over to RA. But to answer your question, I would say it depends on your Commander.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 23 at 2020 1:50 AM2020-02-23T01:50:07-05:002020-02-23T01:50:07-05:00CPT Brad Wilson6251503<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can as long as none of those courses overlap. I was FA and my OBC was at the end of August and out AT was in June so I did both. I spent the part of the first week with one of the battery XO’s, then I spent time with the survey team then spent the last week on the hill with the observers and in a Battery FDC. All of that gave me hands on experience with everything I was going to learn at OBCResponse by CPT Brad Wilson made Aug 27 at 2020 3:47 PM2020-08-27T15:47:17-04:002020-08-27T15:47:17-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member6856181<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am actually dealing with this situation right now. I was just told by APMC (who manages the STRAP program for students) that I can NOT do ECT, or even AT until I've attended DCC. My regular unit that I'm also attached to, wasn't really aware of this because they're kind of limited on all their knowledge about this STRAP program. And I think some people who responded to your question also aren't aware of how the STRAP program works.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 26 at 2021 7:35 PM2021-03-26T19:35:48-04:002021-03-26T19:35:48-04:002020-02-22T16:00:07-05:00
