I imagine you would be as an NCO already, so I don't see why you can't be promoted. I know the ARNG has specific paragraph and line number slots per unit MTOE, but still being a semi-centralized promotion I believe you should be able to at least be promoted as a 19D.Response by SFC Jeremy Boyd made Mar 28 at 2021 11:07 AM2021-03-28T11:07:20-04:002021-03-28T11:07:20-04:00SFC Jeremy Boyd6860136<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In my response I'm also taking into account the fact that you're filling a SSG position within your new ARNG unit already.Response by SFC Jeremy Boyd made Mar 28 at 2021 11:09 AM2021-03-28T11:09:06-04:002021-03-28T11:09:06-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6860144<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From current experience (and it may vary from unit to unit) you have to be MOS qualed for the slot you are in. <br />Hypothetically speaking- if you are an old 11B but re-enlisted into a 35F slot you need that AIT before you can move up the food chain. The guard only has so many positions in the state, it has to be vacant and you have to be fully qualified for that position.
