SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3984275 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I ETS in January and planned on joining the Reserves. However, 2 months ago I was in a car wreck and messed up my back. It is sever enough that some people have suggested I seek a med board. But I dont want to do that because Ive already lined up a real good job out of state, and a med board can take a year or more. Is it possible to join the Reserves, and start the med board from there? Can I join the reserves while injured? Can I join the Reserves while injured? 2018-09-22T00:06:57-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3984275 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I ETS in January and planned on joining the Reserves. Starting or restarting a med board from the reserves isn&#39;t the same as one from active duty. Reserves is four days pay. Active duty is 30 days pay. If you&#39;re in pain or need medical appointment what good will it do you to piss off a future employer. If you need a med board due to it occurring while you were on active duty and qualify for a service connected disability you need to start right now. See VFW and or American Legion Service officers for assistance! If not, they will put you into the (inactive) Reserves. If you have, you will still have to enlist to join the USAR- which means you could have to pass a medical- bad back= bad medical = no USAR, Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Sep 22 at 2018 9:49 PM 2018-09-22T21:49:54-04:00 2018-09-22T21:49:54-04:00 2018-09-22T00:06:57-04:00
