Can I seek a temporarily transfer from USAR to IRR due to hardship? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-i-seek-a-temporarily-transfer-from-usar-to-irr-due-to-hardship

I transferred to a new reserve unit in Las Vegas because my job promoted me and placed me in a directors position there, unfortunately their was a contractual issue and they had to close the job sight down. Now i'm stuck in an expensive metropolitan city with no job in a slot i'm not mosq for. My company told me they were opening another location with the same position available but it will require me to move over 450 miles away. My big problem is that I don't have a POV. My company Allied Universal promised me a company vehicle for commuting but only for 30 miles to and back from work. The next nearest unit that will accept me is over 90 miles away. There is a NG unit 8 miles from my soon to be new home so I tried a 368 but the first time the S1 just left it on the table and the 2nd attempt the packet was finished but then a new CO took command and they threw it out. We've had several people who have told me their issues with out S1 (my career councilor even advised me to not just trust him when he says he's finished and sent things up as he's had a history of lying to her) so I doubt a third attempt will yield different results. I feel I've tried everything to fulfill my time obligation but now i'm stuck.
I'm in a real bad place right now and just cant find a way to make it to any drills. I need time to pay off debts before I purchase a new POV (crunching the numbers I need about 7 months of working full time) I don't believe I should have to purchase and insure a junker just to keep commitments to a unit I cant even drill with anymore nor become mosq for. I keep contacting my UA and S1 but i'm getting stonewalled. All I'm seeking is one year of my IRR time to fix my life, then ill finish my 17 months. By then i'll have time to find a new unit, get a car, get a new home and be debt free.
I was told I have access to my IRR time whenever I need it but Im not sure if this is factual.
Bottom line
I will be moved in and working July 1st and I will not have any transportation to any reserve units. So the short answer is yes you can request a transfer to the IRR, but there is no guarantee or requirement for your CoC to grant it. To what extent have you worked with the military side of your Chain (team leader, squad leader, platoon sgt, 1SG) ? The enlisted chain is the first step. Then you can utilize the battalion CSM and the BN Co. after that, you could work through brigade and upward. Use your chain. In my experience, the USAR as a whole is reasonable with requests like this, but be ready to get a lot of “no’s” on the way. If you need assistance with this let know. It is both your unit and your career counselor that should be assisting you in this matter. Feel free to inbox me for further details.
