If you had special qualifications like the m113 and m88 it might give you a leg in for construction work. Not sure if being qualified on a m998 counts for much. As far as I know for a regular CDL Class C(drivers license) it will not help you.Response by SGT Gregory Cole made Apr 8 at 2021 11:08 PM2021-04-08T23:08:38-04:002021-04-08T23:08:38-04:00Sgt Private RallyPoint Member6888171<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1868326" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1868326-89b-ammunition-specialist">PFC Private RallyPoint Member</a> Below is a previous post. <p class="pta-link-card-description">I’m currently on rotation in Korea out of Fort Hood. I’m a military brat so didn’t have license being fron overseas. I now have a restricted license to drive Brads, 113’s, and humvees in the MP. When I get back to Hood can I go to the DMV with my mil license, proof of residency, and letter from my CO and basically pick up a civilian license without having to take any tests? Been asking around but no clear answers. Thanks.</p>

If so, then the answer is 'no'. You still have to take the driver's test. I think I took the written portion to get my learner's permit.Response by SSG Laurie Mullen made Apr 9 at 2021 1:43 AM2021-04-09T01:43:19-04:002021-04-09T01:43:19-04:00SSG Bill McCoy6888301<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In Pennsylvania, MAYBE. Never used to be able to, but somewhat recently, you can convert a military Truck Driver's License to a CDL by only taking the Driver's Test. Could be the same for a regular license .. but then again, in my day, you had to have a civilian license to obtain a military license. Well, at least for an ambulance, MP or other emergency vehicle. Things no doubt have changed; but I know when my son deployed to Iraq (Transpiration - truck driver) he had to have his PA License before leaving Ft. Dix.Response by SSG Bill McCoy made Apr 9 at 2021 1:47 AM2021-04-09T01:47:38-04:002021-04-09T01:47:38-04:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member6888465<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I used my government driver's license and got a CDL but that was 45 years ago.
