Can someone point me in the direction to find information on taking a APFT while on temporary profile?

Google the regs, but in summation if on a temporary profile you generally will not take an APFT. However, there are provisions for long-term temporary profiles, but that is completely up to the commander. When I was in command I wouldn't allow it all. If a profile was long-term they could get a permanent at a year and if it was chronic we would bar them. Based on what you are looking for see what the commander wants as he has a lot of discretion.

To tie into CPT Gonzalez comment, it is not generally allowed to take a PT test on profile. My last Commander did however allow it under certain circumstances. She did require the SM to sign a memorandum however stating that the SM taking the test was aware of the provisions of the profile as well as the consequences of failing a record APFT. It is up to your command.

The new profile system, as of 1 June 16, does allow for taking an APFT while on a temporary profile of 30 days or more. Talk to your medical provider about it, but your profile does tell you which events you can do.

If it's a shaving profile you should get 30 seconds deducted from your run time to compensate for the additional wind resistance.

That's what would happen a fair and just world.

Under both the new current profile system, and the one prior to it - your profile will specifically state whether or not you can take an APFT, or what alternate events you can take. Go onto your medpros, print it, and comply with it. If you're not sure, just speak with your PA.
