However, there are provisions for long-term temporary profiles, but that is completely up to the commander. When I was in command I wouldn't allow it all. If a profile was long-term they could get a permanent at a year and if it was chronic we would bar them. Based on what you are looking for see what the commander wants as he has a lot of discretion. My last Commander did however allow it under certain circumstances. She did require the SM to sign a memorandum however stating that the SM taking the test was aware of the provisions of the profile as well as the consequences of failing a record APFT. It is up to your command.
