I keep hearing a million different things, any thoughts? Can you reclassify if you are promotable? Will your P status carry into a new MOS? 2017-03-15T17:48:29-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 2422819 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ive been told that you cant, by my NCO, by retention and everything, or for intsance, I was told that you cant, but im in school about to reclass from 19K to 31B and some of these guys are promotable. Once you have a new MOS.....that P status is gone. There is a caveat. If you make cut off before you are awarded the new MOS, then your promotion sticks. Some MOS&#39;s allow you to be a SPC (P), others do not. Some MOSs have rank requirements that require or exclude a promotable status. As an NCO you need to be technically proficient. How can you lead and train your Soldiers if you don&#39;t know your MOS? To answer your question, yes it is possible. We had a few get promoted to E5 the day after they passed their reclass school. They pinned them the day they were leaving the school house.
