They neglected to take in account staff duty and a few other duties during this time and the amount of people taking leave/pass. I have a Soldier who has a signed pass and yet still got put on the staff duty roster after the passes were already signed. When it was brought up, they said they'd comp her a day, but she already had plans and tickets for travel during that day. I'm not finding the right regulation that states that they cannot force her to do Staff Duty. Can your unit force you to do Staff Duty while on a 4 day pass?2021-06-30T04:21:28-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member7078698<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My unit does block leave like quite a few. It's handled by the 1SG, but the authority to task is the Commanders. Take the issue to the Commander and 1SG. A Soldier shouldn't have to lose money because of a poor leadership decisionResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 30 at 2021 4:29 AM2021-06-30T04:29:36-04:002021-06-30T04:29:36-04:00SFC Jim Ruether7079496<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If she had a pass signed and plans made then whoever signed off on her pass can now add their name to the Staff Duty Roster. No comp day to cover the kiester of the Duty Officer, Duty NCO. She has the time off and they had better find the right person to pull that duty or they should do it themselves.<br />If you are her sergeant you need to deal with this or plan on working this weekend. Such a simple task, but when a persons head is somewhere else and not sitting squarely on their shoulders then it becomes a learning moment. It sure isn't her fault....take care of it sergeant or pass it up your chain of command and suffer the butt chewing that will commence when they realize you are wasting their time with a rather menial staff duty roster issue.Response by SFC Jim Ruether made Jun 30 at 2021 11:49 AM2021-06-30T11:49:27-04:002021-06-30T11:49:27-04:002021-06-30T04:21:28-04:00
