Should I fight this or just go with it. I'm not sure if it's good for my career progression. Thoughts? Do you have the class and identifier already? Having said that, as long as you perform well in the position and only do it for 1-2 yrs, it could be a career enhancer. Any longer than 2yrs is too long for an additional duty and I would prefer more like 1 yr. If you translate what you did well on your NCOER board members will see that as going above and beyond your peers. This position is just an additional duty, with talks about making this into full time job. I know starting from scratch it was a complex machine and trying to juggle my job and the MRT job turned into some long nights. Once I got the program up and running and everyone was on board the program was easy to maintain. The Army is putting more efforts into MRT and expanding it. Don't fight the responsibilities once you went to this class you as a Senior NCO should be teaching this to your Soldiers and never back down from this position. If you fight it why have the 8R identifier? Embarrass the additional opportunity with open arms.
