Do all 35 series recruits start as 35W?

I am working with a recruiter right now and I am interested in 35L MOS. He was saying that all 35 series recruits take the DLAB and start out as a 35W. But goarmy has both 35w and 35m listed as HUMIN. I was just wondering if anybody could help this make sense to me?

Not true. Not all 35 series MOSs will take the DLAB

35L is a completely separate MOS and the last time I checked they still have an entry level program. Although, that doesn't mean you'll be accepted into the program. 35L is an application MOS meaning you apply and if they like you, you can get a class seat.

Nope. I'm a 35F, all source analyst. Never took DLAB. It's not required. I had to look up 35W.

I came in before they made the enlisted all 35 series too. I came in a 96B.

No, you can choose your specific path. Only a few of the 35 series disciplines require taking the DLAB and learning another language.
