This is a TERRIBLE precedent so that when the Republicans are in the minority and they don't like how the Democrats are running the table and controlling the floor of the House (there are no filibusters allowed in the lower house of Congress, like in the Senate), and deciding what bills make it to the floor for debate, they can throw the same temper tantrum and bring the House's business to a halt, by engaging in such disruptive and undemocratic actions.

This does not bode well for the future legislative business of the House of Representatives. The Democrats do this kind of shut down, shut up and sit down to the Republicans in my state of California, where they have a super majority, and they completely dominate and control the legislative process.

If they want to have the power, they are going to have to win the House back through the ballot box. And to top it off they had a chance to vote on a 72hr wait time bill, but refused. And to top this all off, none of the bills presented would have stopped this past shooting or in my opinion will stop more violence. I listened to a interview with Idaho Senator Jim Risch. He stated the bill was unconstitutional, and the Sit-iners have no intention in upholding it (Constitution). He also stated guns weren't the problem. If the guns weren't there, what stops a person from buying sodium nitrate fertilizer, combining with a little diesel, add some nails, steel balls, etc and have a much more effect killing weapon than a gun? Fertilizer is easily obtained anywhere, no waiting period. He also stated the bill presented was just knee jerk response to the shooting, which I also believe.
