How much of your contract have you served, did you receive a bonus, and in my 30+ years in the Guard and Reserve- I have never seen a hardship release. I saw it when I was AD- but never in the Guard. PFC Private RallyPoint Member What would be your reason for a hardship? Also, utilize the chain. Politeness, professionalism, and persistence can go a long way in a short amount of time. Both soldiers were getting released due to financial reasons so they could go Active Duty. When a soldier would come to me with a financial issue due to either no job or low paying job I would try and put that soldier in contact with Guard members that owned or managed a business. Also some soldiers worked at good paying jobs and those businesses were hiring. I feel that no soldier in the Guard or Reserves should be without a full time job, if needed, especially with the sheer number of individuals that serve.
