Does anyone have any info on this?

P.S. I've already checked the MWR website and asked our training NCO. There isn't much information available online. If your answer is "ask someone at your unit" don't bother. Now from reading other posts and I'm aware you don't have that kind of support, just go to the Range Control Office like other mentioned. The personnel that can assist your unit since MEDDAC is set up different.

I used to be the Land and Ammo Officer at my unit when I was at Ft Stewart and had access to RFMSS. Keep in mind, some ranges are booked out far in advance due to the volume of units reserving the ranges. Do check with your unit if you are attached to a BDE where the BDE Ammo Tech who is mostly a CW2 allocates Class V (ammo) for MEDDAC. If so, from my past experiences, your unit will have to lock in specific Class V quantities at 90 - 120 days out. Class V orders are requested out that far due to trucks having to pickup Class V at off post warehouses and then delivered to the Ammo Holding Areas (AHA) on posts. It's all a system that Company Commanders and S3 Land and Ammo NCO/OIC are familiar with. At times, you may get lucky and be given ammo from a unit that cancelled there range for a few months. If they have the same ammo like 5.56mm or 9mm ready, the CW2 will give it to your unit. The ammo you requested then will be given to that unit in the same amount that you borrowed when it arrives on post. Again, you will also have to ensure that a range is available too which Range Control can assist you on this.

If you need more clarification just let me know. I did Land and Ammo for years in the 3D ID. If you just want to be "qualified" ask your 1st line to write up a score card if he/she is cool enough to do that. I needed an M9 qual in order to get my CCW in Tennessee and we had no M9 ranges in the near future, so my 1st line just hooked me up with a score sheet Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 8 at 2017 11:46 AM 2017-04-08T11:46:25-04:00 2017-04-08T11:46:25-04:00 2017-02-15T11:08:29-05:00
