Does the new tattoo policy include the feet?

I know the new policy requires documentation of tattoos from the knee down. It also says inspection done in summer PTs so shoes and socks would be worn covering said tattoos on the foot. I already have a thought but am curious to others thoughts.

No, bascially tattoos that can been seen when wearing the summer pt uniform. Below the elbow and knee.

I would move out with the assumption that shoes and socks would be worn and the policy would not cover the feet.

My reccomendation would be to document them especially if there is a chance that they could ever be seen. I don't know much about Army regs or uniforms however in the Marine Corps females do on occasion have to wear pumps and a lot of feet tattoos can be seen when wearing those shoes.

as SSgt Guina stated, there may be a time in dress uniform where a female will wear pumps and they can be seen. Their feet are below their knees (unless they walk on their hands) and thus I would have them documented. What's it going to hurt? If the commander tells them no, then kindly ask for a memo signed by that commander stating that they did not want to document them and the Soldier will then be covered at their next unit.

I would say that it would have to be included in the below the knee statement, and while it is true that in summer pts one would not see the feet with shoes and socks, I would think that not documenting them would violate the letter and spirit of the reg. That's just the humble opinion of someone who doesn't have to worry about this anymore at all.

I once saw a Marine with the word DRILL tattooed on his left foot, covering the entire thing. Drill Foot! if you don't get it, then it's a Marine Corps only thing. had to share
