Not surprising from the current administration or it's DOJ LTC Private RallyPoint Member
Granted there are so many laws on the books that they can not all be enforced. But with all of the other troubles this nation is facing right now it seems ludicrous that the DOJ would use its resources to target a business that is actually following the law.

As is usual in these things, it would be a hellova story, if it was true ...

ohhhh .. those pesky facts ....

Nebraska Beef was asking the brown people to verify their status and not the white people .. that is the suit.

Deceptive article, the DOJ requires employees to prove work eligibility, not provide information on immigration status. Nebraska Beef was fined for breaking the law and asking workers to provide proof of immigration status.

"While all companies are required to verify that their employees are authorized to work in the U.S., asking workers to provide proof of immigration status is a violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act, a federal law that prohibits employers from making documentary demands based on citizenship or national origin, officials said."

If one is "authorized to work in the US" wouldn't they in fact be a legal (versus illegal) immigrant and thus be in the country legally in the first place? Or am I overthinking it (wouldn't be the first time)?
