Dual military PCSing to Korea on a non Joint Domicile tour. Would we be able to get a barracks room together? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/dual-military-pcsing-to-korea-on-a-non-joint-domicile-tour-would-we-be-able-to-get-a-barracks-room-together <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My wife and I are a dual army couple and are set to PCS to Korea in the near future. We have no dependents and our orders state “This assignment is for Tour Equity (12 months) to serve at the same location with spouse and is not a Join Domicile Assignment.” With that being said, we will be in the barracks. Would we be able to get our own barracks room being that we are married? I’m a SGT (P) she’s a SPC. We will fall under the same BDE in Korea. My instinct says no....but one never knows until it&#39;s asked of the command. A few companies share building depending on the size of that particular unit. You might not even be assigned to the same barracks SSG Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 05 May 2020 11:52:17 -0400 2020-05-05T11:52:17-04:00 Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made May 5 at 2020 12:10 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/dual-military-pcsing-to-korea-on-a-non-joint-domicile-tour-would-we-be-able-to-get-a-barracks-room-together?n=5853505&urlhash=5853505 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Check the brigade policies. I saw one online from 35 air defense from 2017 allowing married couples to occupy the same barracks room if approved in writing by the battalion commander...<br />Definitely need to check with both chain of commands. Do they have Coed barracks, are you going to the same Company, cannot have separate command authority. Anything is possible. I would stay the process now, at least you will be in the commands radar. If you are in separate company’s I would send the request the the Battalion CSM, separate Battalions sent to the BDE CSM. Twice. In the same Battalion. On one occasion they were both Sergeants. On the second occasion, one was a SGT and the other a SPC non promotable. Although they might have to put you in different Companies [Batteries in my case], if you have a memorandum or Exemption to Policy signed by your O-5, you are authorized to have a barracks room together. However, this was at a time when the curfew was still in play. Might be different now. I would talk with your sponsor and see what they can find out for you. But being in the same BDE would definitely be a big help. It is going to be command centric as what is and is not going to be allowed. It is also going to depend on where in Korea you are assigned. It has been a while since I have been in Korea, but we had Soldier&#39;s that were in a similar situation as you. The first time I was at Camp Casey and married couples were not allowed to share a room in the barracks, so an exception to policy (ETP) was submitted to live off post and it was granted. The second time I was at Camp Humphreys, while they were no allowed to live in the barracks, they were granted permission to live in military family housing on post. Again an ETP had to be submitted, and it got approved. If you have a sponsor reach out to them, if you do not have a sponsor request one. Sponsors are a great resource to utilize. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 08 May 2020 13:10:14 -0400 2020-05-08T13:10:14-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2021 8:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/dual-military-pcsing-to-korea-on-a-non-joint-domicile-tour-would-we-be-able-to-get-a-barracks-room-together?n=6821445&urlhash=6821445 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>hi, just got to Korea and im dual. did yall get seperated or stayed in the barracks ?
