I just launched a Veteran Owned Business (VOB). I am registering on each company's portal for Supplier Diversity, but want to accelerate my work as a sub-contractor working in support of larger contractors that are already providing goods and services to pharma/biotech companies. Thanks for any guidance!

1. Define " large companies" ?
2. Do you mean large companies as in PRIME ? Prime means the companies who have been awareded the prime contract and can sub-contract ?
3. Be aware - no significant business advantage for VOSB. The Primes dont "benefit" signifcantly by subbing to VOSB.
4. From VOSB, if possible, get 8a, for any significant advantage.
5. Your questions cannot be fully answered w/o posting your applicable NIACS to make any reco's. Begs- What are your NIACS ( goods and services ? )

Your point on Prime is right on target (so I have been learning since I posted this a month ago!). I am really looking for 2nd-tier opportunities as a VOB. Biggest objective now is to capture learnings and get in the door, rather than ''benefit'', as I'm a startup that needs a prime to ''help me'' establish my credibility. 8a is not possible. NAICS: 425120, 423450, 423490, 424990

Appreciate any further thoughts or contacts!

Sir,

Have you checked out the resource tab under the RallyPoint Universe tab, it may provide some assistance. The only other thing I could think of would be to hit up the DCMA website and make some contact with them and initiate through them for some contacts, it is worth a try, the HQs element is based out of Fort Lee, VA.

Good luck and have a happy holidays.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm finding DCMA helpful, as well as the SAM system. In the last few weeks I've also learned about the VA's online certification program for Veteran-owned Businesses. I'm nearly done my application if anyone else is working through it or wants to share ideas. Check out https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov for more info.
