It is a very strong tradition based with the 101st, so expect very high standards of excellence for the units you come into contact with, depending on your MOS you will have plenty of training conducted for your job and the unit you go to. Be prepared to enjoy lots of PT and depending on where you go if you are not already Air Assault qualified expect to be put in for the school or strongly encouraged to apply for it.

For a 1st duty station , I think it will be a good learning experience and better prepare you for any follow on station after your time there, take care and stay safe.
Response by SFC James Baber made Feb 5 at 2014 6:31 PM 2014-02-05T18:31:43-05:00 2014-02-05T18:31:43-05:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 52091

Get ready to go to Air Assault School. Apparently the CG has a policy that everyone attends. Because of that you will always find someone ready to ask you about your job or to say thank you. You are also in the country so most folks here have that country hospitality and go out of their way to make you feel a part of the area. Nashville is close and you are centrally located to other great cities and areas.

I agree you should be ready to attend Air Assault School within a few weeks to months of arriving. I can honestly say I haven't met too many people that say they did not like their stay at Fort Campbell.
