PVT Private RallyPoint Member Military friendly ? How about a college with the credentials of a providing a solid education that will be respected during an interview? Quick and Easy is not alway the best afterwards!

Arizona State (Masters) and Western Carolina (Bachelor's) worked very well for me
Best bet is to use the find a school app "VIA" on goarmyed.com it'll find you a school that has the degree you want and whether its online or in person, gibill, tuition assistance etc... then google it to ensure its credible and not University of Phoenix-esque

I suggest getting your associates with Coastline Community College and then Thomas Edison State University for your Bachelors.

I believe Texas A&M has around 3,000 in its ROTC program.

Awesome. Don't forget history and motivations. In the 'Nam era and afterwards, schools actively shunned military. Over time, they realized their sacred cow of greed wasn't being worshipped enough. The Feds had money and they wanted it. OK so now we'll let them in with at least a nod. 911 put the notion of patriotic support as a storefront to make them look better without ignoring the cow. Now the students are the basic inhibitor of anything military including actively pushing ROTC off campus. Administrations roll on this as the cow is better fed by disgruntled student parents vs. the limited body count Feds. Given that, what do you do? You look out for Number One. People already mentioned degrees with accreditation that matters. Be choosey. Also be wary of snake oil. Lots of it out there. The one I'm most familiar with is the Engineering Technology programs which are credentialed, but worthless for professional registration later on. You need an actual ABET EAC program and not an ABET ETAC credential. So make sure the credential actually leads to where you want to go.

I feel like it depends on what you want to use your degree for. Is it a block to check for promotion? For a good job when you get out? Even if it's just for promotion, remember, the military may not last forever, so you want to go someplace with good accreditation and that employers will recognize. American Military University is good for getting some basics out of the way, and their credit will transfer to most state and metro universities. Most of these universities are pretty receptive of vets and military, and even have a VA center of reps on campus.

SNHU.....Why? Twice in the last ten years when Tuition Assistance experienced funding gaps their President awarded financial grants to EVERY active military student currently enrolled to replace TA and ensure they could continue. It’s a real college with real campus(s) . Class!

It’s been 40 years but both URI and Providence College took good care of their troops. I hope that hasn’t changed.
