FY14 MSG Board results for all CMF

What does everyone think about the Army selecting only 2076 SFC to MSG? We will be in a bind when it come time for the release of the SFC Board results. I hope we have a bigger selection this year.

This should come as no surprise to anyone with the RIF currently going on, this is another tool to be utilized to justify who is on their way out the door.

SSG I think instead of limiting how many senior NCOs get promoted we should cut back on the number of generals and field grade officers we have holding certain positions. The Army became really top heavy in terms of rank during OIF and OEF and its a strain on the budget.

This does not bode well, especially for MOS's like mine that might select 4-5 for SFC each year. For 15Z, there are about 5 Feeder MOS's, but mine (15Y) has an extremely low advancement rate than most of the others.

Only two 25Zs got promoted to MSG. It seems I might be a SSG/SFC for a long, long time.

This is has a direct relationship to the zero 91Z5s and 94Z5s who got picked up fro Sergeant Major at the last board for that. Why? Both of those CMFs are massively overstrength right now.

Basically, if we have more E-9s and E-8s than we're authorized, we're not going to promote that many people.

That aside, did anyone read the board AAR comments? Those were freaking vicious. A few of those were the biggest angry middle finger to incompetence I've seen put into respectful bureaucratic prose in a while.

42A, one of the selected was a cadet and another was selected for warrant officer. There were a total of five selected that currently live in Colorado Springs, Co. Three from Fort Carson and two at Peterson AFB.
