Garden Valley School District Arms it's schools to protect it's students from intruders, is this the best course of action, or should schools remain unarmed?

The district also has plans to purchase extra magazine rounds and body armor vests, according to school board documents. Each rifle was purchased for $680.

Sadly enough we have to go this route. Ideally we would not need to have our schools armed to protect our children, but with the decline of our society, protecting our children is a must. As long as the officials are properly trained on how to handle and shoots guns, I don't have any issues.

The funny thing about criminals and those who would bring guns into our schools to hurt others, is that they don't follow the rules anyway, thus they are criminals.

Have you noticed what happens when police respond to a school shooting? When they finally decide to enter the school, the perpetrators generally shoot themselves. Why not have trained and armed teachers/administrators confront them sooner and end the madness?

I have absolutely no problem with this.

It is a noble and just cause. Thankfully most armed attackers at schools do not possess real military training.

Cops aren't the only ones who are (allegedly) proficient in firearms. As long as these staff members continue training I don't see what the problem is!

Keeping guns out of school only enforces the school's vulnerability to crazy people that are armed.

It's a darn shame that we have to go down this road. If we could fix people, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
