The VA in its infinite wisdom will hurt thousands of veterans and families by revamping the caregiver program. Some veterans will see a reduction in money or might be disenrolled from the program. Many families are in financial straits and the revamping the caregiver program will materially hurt some them.

The VA has honestly been wonderful for me to deal with, and I’m grateful for how they’ve always treated me. This includes in Boston, Chicago, and Seattle area VAs. Thank you!

A problem that I see is the vast number of Veterans with service-connected conditions and a significant number of Veterans with zero service-related conditions. The number is too large for the VA Clinics and Hospitals to handle appropriately. Example of one_ the nurse of a primary care doctor said he saw over 1,300 Veterans. She added that he was up as late as 0200 every night trying to get caught up with paperwork. I have spoken to others with the same issues. The result is, at times, they have Veterans who fall outside to the table of normal to abnormal. The amount is only marginal, so they change the results to bring the results within normal. Not a big deal. They have many Veterans who have more urgent needs.

The solution is to call on outside providers to help with Veterans' medical conditions. Something worked on by people like Senator Tester, who I believe is chairman of the Senate Committee of Veteran Affairs. He worked on the Mission Act signed into Law in June 2019 and replaced the Choice Act.

Allowing a Veteran to be outsourced to a provider in the community. All sounds good, but a problem(s) with the administration of the Mission Act is that some Doctors do not want to outsource a Veteran. They incorrectly believe it is a step toward privatization of the VA, which puts their job and budget at risk. They do not recognize the hard work of people like John Tester, who focuses on the high quality of care for our Veterans ...Not politics.

One example of a big issue. The amount paid to a provider sometimes falls below the provider's raw cost of materials.

This has already led to many high-quality providers not accepting Veterans as patients. The solution? Limit outside services to Veterans with a disability of 50% or higher. Refer other Veterans of thousands who do not have any service-connected disability to Medicare, Medicaid, Try care. The VA treats those with lesser than a 50% disability. Those Veterans 100% should be able to choose either or...

I mention this not as a complaint. I respect the VA and the care the VA provides. These comments are a way to raise awareness to those who can improve the policies. Providing the best quality of care possible to those Veterans whose service to our Country has impacted.

Discounting Providers will directly impact the quality of Providers. A title alone does not speak to the credentials of a Provider.

VA doesn't cover DENTAL unless you have received the Congressional Medal of Honor, been a POW, or 100 Service Connected Disabled Veteran. We served, THE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T DELIVER Dental. We have good care thought the VA, I CAN'T complain, some Veterans can, I get that, that another story. I am willing to pay 50.00 a month to get the VA to give us dental with no copays or deductibles. We can do this if we get enough Veterans to petition or congressman and senators to change the law. The people of this country are surprised that we DON'T HAVE DENTAL CARE. PLEASE let's all get together and help all veterans to get dental care please let me know when you contacted you Congressman and Senators. I have 2 Senators and 1 Congressman in my district, that I have contacted already. Please help yourselves and all veterans. Many thanks to all you vets for your help.

SCREW THE VA...Jackson MS HOSP is worthless and that is about all the food I can say for it...I prefer the VA in Tuscaloosa (although they aren't much better) I can't go see them because I live across the state line (50 miles)...there is a clinic in my hometown but I can't see them unless I enroll in the LOWDOWN Jackson MS VA system because they are in the "same region"...I really can't stand the VA because of my visits there...went to see a psychologist and she never and I mean never made eye contact with me and spoke to me like I was a damn dog. I have Tricare retiree and I just see my local doc...damn the VA...WONT GO BACK UNLESS OT IS AN EMERGENCY AND THEY ARE THE NEAREST ER TO STABILIZE ME AND THEN MOVE ON...thought after 26 years I would have been treated better than this!!!!

Oh...and another thing...we were watching the Armed Forces bowl last night and a VA commercial came on talking about how good they are...my wife looked at me and asked if I had switched to the comedy channel.
