Going to interview with Headhunter Service. https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/going-to-interview-with-headhunter-service

Well last week I was contacted by Headhunter Agency in California. They had job opportunity in Midland Michisub-contractoror world-wide sub-contractor for IT. Well we agreed that I would have a interview on Friday at 2 P.M. with the Sub-contract. This was Wednesday afternoon, after couple phone calls, as well a 3 separate email exchange between us. That I would be on a bus that morning to ride for 12 hours, and be in the Midland, MI area Thursday night to get ready for the said interview. That night I get, email confirming the interview, then ten minute later told to disregard. I went into the Sub-contractor the next day at 2. The Sub-contractor and Headhunter both promise to work on to give me interview the next week. We'll after waiting until Thurday, I get told to head home and sorry for your luck. The entire time they knew, I was an U.S. Army Veteran on top of it.

So would any one have any idea of any recourse I may have. I have copies of our email exchanges. As well as these companies are International Corporations with one of them being a DoD Contractor or Sub-contractor. I am out of $160 of bus fare and $100 of other expenses for sitting a week waiting for interview they had no intentions to honor. I suggest that you not return on this one unless they reimburse you for the expenses incurred and prepay any for a "next" interview.

It's easy to fall into the traps when jobs are scarce and we're desperate to get one, but don't let them use you. You aren't passing up a real opportunity when you pass up an interview in which you have to pay the costs...
