Will I be able to keep my rank when switching from the Guard to active duty ?

Hoping to get good solid information, I Would like to know if I would be able to keep my rank switching from guard to active duty ?

Possible. MEPS will do a rank determination

MEPS will do a grade determination when you enlist in AD and tell you what grade you'll be at.

When I Did The Switch Back In 97 , I Had Been A Sgt For About A Year And They Dropped Me Back To Spc However They Did Make My Date Of Rank When I Got Promoted To Spc Which Gave Me The Tis And Tig To Make Sgt as Soon As I Made Points And Got Boarded , Don’t Know About Now But Be Prepared To Take A Drop To Spc

E4 seems to be no issue, it's the NCO ranks that are iffy. If you have completed schools then that seems to work in your favor. Knew a few SGT's that went to SPC but regained their rank quickly enough. Also knew a SSG that kept his rank.
