I reenlisted for a bonus two enlistments ago. If I remember right it was separate paperwork for the bonus. Still saw it in writing though

Yeah I figured as much, you know with the army you have to get everything in writing. I'm about to reenlist for Airborne and they are currently giving out SRB for us. My retention really don't know what they talking about because he's telling me they don't. I got screwed already on my first reenlistment, not really trying to go through that again.

My reenlistment was in the National Guard, so it may be different paperwork. Although I think it is all pretty standard.

I'm sure the reenlistment person knows what they are talking about.
The fact you are getting a bonus is listed on the 4/1 and details are on the 4789. The amount is never listed.

Way back in the day (1994), I signed for a bonus, and it was written out in the contract. Make sure that there is paperwork signed on this; otherwise, no bonus for you. Good luck!

“Way back when”(1973) I re-enlisted into 11B mos. I received a bonus for it. I’m not sure if it was or wasn’t reduced to writing but the amount was $10,000. However, during those days life as a black soldier was better Versus as a citizen! I joined in 1970, after graduating from high school (my age was 17years and 6 months). Ordered to go to Vietnam 1 week after my 18th birthday. I served with the 11th ACR (go black-horse)! I came home for my 19th birthday! Therefore, I served in Vietnam during my 18th year of life. This was 1971. I was assigned to a committee-Group at Fort Ord, CA.
