Has Vladimir Putin made a fool of Barack Obama?

Russian forces attack pro US anti-Assad rebels in Syria after a brunt demarche to our military attaché in Iraq. Putin does what he likes while Obama talks climate change. Does anyone else see the seeds of large-scale war in the Middle East.

Russia is using Syria to divert attention from his land-grab in the Ukraine and to keep the US chasing it's tail. The best we can do right now is to not let ourselves be goaded into an increased presence in Syria. If Russia wants to fight ISIS, go ahead. We should still be focused on keeping Putin out of the NATO countries (and neighbors?).

There is already large scale war in the Middle East and it's our fault for not winning the peace.... However it's easy to look backwards... Looking forward I'm afraid we need to go back full strength and do it again... Russia be damned....We have to stand up to Putin somewhere...

My one year old Grandson could make Obama look like a fool. As far as the Middle east goes, I think we should just bow out and only interfere if Israel needs our help. We train them and then fight them. The only way for us to make headway is to take and occupy, but our Administration isn't going to do that. You don't know who the enemy really is. Any civilian has potential to be the enemy. I saw a video where our "allies" Commander videoed cutting open an enemy and removing his heart and liver then biting into it. That's our allies? Leave them be and let them destroy each other or take cities and occupy them. We are not going to win the way things are going now. Maybe Putin will handle it better.

Its sad to see so many content with the Russians taking the lead in cleaning up our mess we made. This is what happens when a community organizer with an idealists ideology dabbles in foreign policy. He allowed the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad to cross the line and murder tens of thousands, let a virulent brand of Islamic extremism metastasize and put the entire Arab world into tumult. Way to optimistic and lacking in any real world experience in such matters. Putin is former KGB with 16 years of service - he is old school cold war and has an established doctrine in the recovery of economic, political, and geostrategic assets lost by the Soviet state in 1991. For Obama there is an ongoing debate whether Obama has a general doctrine. There is still no consensus on the existence and/or definition of an "Obama doctrine" or its effects on US Foreign policy. Based on that alone its clear why Putin is getting the upper hand - proactive vs. reactive.
