Military OneSource is a confidential Department of Defense-funded program providing comprehensive information on every aspect of military life at no cost to active duty, National Guard, and reserve members, and their families.

Information includes, but is not limited to, deployment, reunion, relationships, grief, spouse employment and education, parenting and childhood services. It is a virtual extension to installation services.

I am in fact using it for the first time right now. But to get truly connected ot was a bit of a cluster. The service providers that are connected are a shot in the dark. The firs one I got just seems unprofessional (the email I got was a forward with other peoples info attached), the second was retired but still on the list, the third seems ok but is fully booked so it's hard to get appointments.

So I believe the idea is good, but maybe it should be a harder screening of the providers. At least that's my experience so far..

I used this resource extensively when I was active and found it extremely useful and beneficial! I miss it - it's not available for "retirees"!!! :-(

It may be more useful for active duty service members GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad. It is not very useful for me a as a veteran. The Early Bird is something I have been glancing over for many years. I liked the older version more than the new version released soon after sequestration was implemented. The older version was put out the Pentagon and contained summaries of news from the each of the Services. That version was an early casualty of sequestration.

The one and only reason I used Military One Source was to log my volunteer hours.
